How to improve your visual memory and skill.
Visual and photographic memory slot in your head is very important and the most valuable asset if you are an artist.
Here are some tips to help you improve you visual ability and collect more images, visual, and photographic memory capacity in you mainframe.

Cognitive level
In the evening, make a film of the day and review it in your imagination; visualize the most impressive events and all the people you've seen When you think of someone, try to see him in your visual imagination.

When you are reading or typing something on your computer, pay special attention to the actual form of the letters and words with their correct spelling. Close your eyes and see the words or even the numbers mentally.

Behavior level
Imagine that you are being watched. Pay attention to the expression on your face, smile when talking to people, make funny faces.

Think of the world as a movie screen, think of yourself as an actor facing his/her audience. Visualize yourself in a positive way.

The benefits of developing visual skills
Sight is a very stimulating sense. When you pay attention to images you can keep yourself alert and busy.

Mental images contain enormous amounts of information so it is a great way to help your memory and maintain a sharp mind.

When you are conscious of your image, it helps you to improve it and it even requires you to do so as it would be difficult to tolerate an unflattering image once you are conscious of it on a regular basis. You then dress better, you take better care of yourself and this can increase your self esteem.

Anyway, I hope this help some how.

Happy New Year 2009!

Happy New Year 2009 from all of the staff here at the "Ongaku-The World of Anime Music" blog (well actually that's just me, if you don't count my many multiple personalities...)!
Thank you to all the regular and non-regular readers of this blog! It's been 3 months now that I've started this blog and I really didn't expect to have so many visitors in such a short time span. So thank you again to all those 34,468 visitors! I've really worked my ass off for this blog, so I'm pretty satisfied to be getting such positive feedback. And any negative feedback or comments are welcome... They will help me improve this blog. So if you have any ideas or just comments, try the shout box or any comment sections. I try to reply to every single one of them!

Since creating this blog I've met (virtual meaning of course) really nice people as well as great supporters such as Fairchild (check out her awesome blog), Ga Rei Zr0, Avenger, Dxj, Connie, Kamen, Riene, Lydel, Shawnz and many others I'm sure I forgot... I've also discovered some amazing music, and been able to create some music of my own (check out all my Videos here...). I hope that I've been able to inspire some people with this blog. Even one person is enough for me!

I hope to see you all next year, and be sure to except lots of music, games, news, piano covers and some surprises... I have a lot in store for this blog!

PS: I'm going away for a few days and I won't have any internet connection, so don't worry if I don't reply right away! I'll be back January the 5th!

Painting Lesson check list, tip and technique for artists.
Here are the checklist that you should have them memorized or make a flashcard. It is very useful to look at it before, during and finishing the painting.
FYI: I adopted the following key point in this check list for digital painting from master painter Richard Schmid. It is very useful key points for me to check my own painting over the past year or so. Observation and criticism of your work is the key.

Here are the painting check list to make you work the best it could possibly be
1) Careless drawing (accurate measurement and such)
2) Too many sharp edges.
3) Trying to paint things instead of shapes (Very KEY*** patches or shapes of value)
4) Painting more values than are necessary
5) Incorrect temperature transition (if you have cool shadow then the shadow stay only cool shade)
6) Muddy color or not confident blurry color
7) Unsuitable brushes
8) Working too much on detail instead of focusing on the overall image.
9) Overwork what should be left alone.
10) Values and edges
11) Too many highlights or hot spots.
12) Aimless brush strokes hoping to get lucky.
13) Poor selection of pigments and palette.
14) Timidity and lack of confident (fear of making mistake usually resulting in muddy)
15) Color should be clean and clear

These are some what a basic check list that will help you improve every time you paint. If you wonder why is your painting is not coming out the way you would like it to be then go through this list one by one...I am sure you will find this very helpful.

This list is up to your own interpretation because I didn't come up with it. But if you have any question I will try to point you the best I can, in my own interpretation, to the correct way.

Yuki Kajiura DVD - LIVE 2008.07.31

I've been in a total Kajiura mode/mood these past few days! The reason: Her first live DVD called "Yuki Kajiura LIVE 2008.07.31" was released december the 24th in Japan! It is a recording of the July 31 Yuki Kajiura LIVE Vol#2 concert at Shibuya O-EAST. And just yesterday (three days after the DVD release) she did a special live performance celebrating the release of that first DVD with Kalafina as the opening act. I would have loved to be there! It would have been the perfect gift for Christmas... But fortunately, I was lucky enough to watch the whole Live DVD today, and it was really awesome and magical. To be able to see your favorite composer in a live show is quite rare, so it totally made my day! I'm giving you a little foretaste of the DVD with a clip of Zodiacal Sign from the OST of the Aquarian Age anime (download the original song here), just after the DVD details.

The Vocalists are Kaori, Wakana, Keiko, Yuriko Kaida and special guest star Eri Ito.

10/10 Here's a little foretaste of the awesomeness that is a live Yuki Kajiura concert! Yuki seems so full of energy during this song. She actually sings as well during Zodiacal Sign. I've always loved this song, but seeing it live with such amazing vocalists is truly worth the wait. Kaori, Wakana, Keiko (all three are part of the awesome kajiuran FictionJunction project) and Yuriko Kaidia all have incredible voices. I didn't expect their voices to have such clarity and purity during the whole concert. They sound so professional unlike a lot of J-Pop singers that sing live!

Ga-Rei Sounyuuka & Image Song Shuu - Yuri-mu Croquette

Ga-Rei Sounyuuka & Image Song Shuu Yuri-mu Croquette came out yesterday, after the final episode of Ga Rei Zero aired in Japan. It is not the first OST but rather the Ga Rei Zero Insert Song Collection Album. I was so happy when it got released, since it contains so many great songs that were included in really awesome scenes throughout the anime. Ga Rei Zero has been one of my favorite animes this season, and it's really sad for me to see that there's only one episode I haven't seen yet. I hope there's a second season after this one! This anime has been quite a ride for me. I didn't really expect this at all when I first read what it was about. I thought it would be a sort of Bleach or Soul Eater clone. But not to dismiss these 2 animes, Ga Rei Zero has been really superior on every aspects. I loved it that they misled the viewers after the first episode and SPOILERS killed off the whole cast. Even after that, the story was still intense and the characters so loveable! Yomiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! Sigh...

7/10 There are so many awesome songs here I don't know where to start. I think I'll do a more detailled review later on... Most songs on Ga-Rei Sounyuuka & Image Song Shuu Yuri-mu Croquette are either from Faylan or yozuca*. I really like the first track called Dark Side of the Light by Faylan which was in the very first episode during the battle scene. And then of course one of my favorite tracks is 7. Tamakui by Yousei Teikoku which played during the intense battle between Yomi and Mei in episode 8. I don't remember during which episodes these tracks came up, but I love track 11, 12 and 13. What's really amazing is that track 11. AI by yozuca* and 12. if by Faylan are actually two distinct songs (both of them beautiful) with the same music, and when put together they become track 13. Reincarnation by yozuca* & Faylan!

Soukyuu no Fafner Tribute Song Single - Yakusoku by angela

Just under one and a half months after the release of Beautiful fighter (the Shikabane Hime OP, that you can download here), angela released their twenty-fifth single. Titled Yakusoku, the single commemorates the fifth anniversary of the 2004 mecha anime series, Soukyuu no Fafner. Indeed, angela had done all the Fafner OP and EDs back then. Shangri-La was the OP and the 2 EDs were: Separation and Proof. Download the full Tribute Song Single here.

7.5/10 Yakusoku is a sweet ballad. I really like the song. Angela's singer has an incredible and powerful voice. It's the first ballad I hear from them and frankly I'm quite surprised. I thought the singer's voice really suited their fast-paced tracks, but apparently they're also pretty good at ballads! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Unfortunately I couldn't find any youtube video of the song, so if anyone finds one, please let me know!

Kara no Kyoukai 6 ED Single - Fairytale by Kalafina

Kara no Kyoukai is a Japanese novel series, authored by Kinoko Nasu and illustrated by Takashi Takeuchi, which is being adapted into an ongoing anime movie series, divided into seven chapters. Each of the theme songs to the series are performed by Kalafina, a band formed by goddess/composer Yuki Kajiura in 2007. Fairytale is the theme for the sixth film, called Boukyaku Rokuon (Oblivion Recorder) that premiered December the 20th in Japan. You can download the full ED single here.

9/10 Fairytale is a beautiful Kajiuran ballad, and it is my favorite Kalafina song yet. It sounds much more like her FictionJunction songs which I really loved, especially FictionJunction Yuuka. Each new Yuki Kajiura song is a real treat, so I'm really happy that she works so hard and releases so much music... I think I might do a piano cover for this song, I love it so much!

Hello folks, it's been a while with no activity on idrawgirls.com I am trying to keep up with the holiday stuff, and it snowing for the last three to four days here in Seattle. It looks really beautiful with all with all the white color. But it's really hard to get around. It's is also very unusual around here in the Pacific Northwest, especially along the coastline. Though there are plenty on snow toward mid land and in the mountain.

Also Kapow Express will be update soon, I am trying to come up with some surprising turn in the story and have to decide which one will suite best and how would it keep the story going in the way that make sense to human being. So I tightening up the story a bit...which, in turn, slow down the acutual drawing and making process.

Xam'd: Lost Memories ED single - Vacancy by Kylee

I wrote a post a while back about the wonderful Xam'd OP song Shut up and explode by BOOM BOOM SATELLITES. Yesterday, someone requested the ED theme song Vacancy by Kylee, so I guess it's the right time for me to write a review for that song. Download the full ED single here. 7.5/10 So how is this Kylee? Is she the poor man's Kylie? Well, the answer is definitely no! She's more a J-Rock kind of girl, with a beautiful voice. The song is kind of sad but it has this great energy. I really enjoy it. I also love the spoken words at the end, "bear with me". It feels so intense!

Battle Spirits Shounen Toppa Version ED Single - Bouken Kiroku by Little Non

After the horrendous Battle Spirits Shounen Toppa Version OP song, GO TO HELL! (Sorry, GO AHEAD), comes the ED theme song called Bouken Kiroku by Little Non. I think there's a mistake and it's actually Little Nun! That would be awesome for a music group! Anyway, you can download the full ED single here...

Battle Spirits Shounen Toppa Version OP Single - GO AHEAD!! by Mitsuhiro Oikawa

Battle Spirits Shounen Toppa Version is yet another anime from the 2008 Fall Anime Season. It is based on the Bandai’s highly popular card game, this anime is set up in collaboration for the 20th anniversary of Bandai card games. It is reputed to have fast game play and immediate turnarounds. The animators plan to incorporate computer graphics to portray the battles from the card game.(Source) Sounds really crappy doesn't it? I'm really not into kiddy card battle animes, sorry! The Opening Theme song is called GO AHEAD!! by Mitsuhiro Oikawa. You can download the full OP single here.

3/10 The song is as shitty as the anime (I haven't actually seen it, but the reviews are all unanimous...). It's a poorly sung J-pop track with a horrible melody, and each time the guy sings GO AHEAD, it sounds more like GO TO HELL! Maybe it's intended that way, hehe! What do you think of the OP?

Astro Fighter Sunred (Tentai Senshi Sunred) is a Japanese manga created by Makoto Kubota. It started serialization on Square Enix's seinen manga magazine Young Gangan on August 25, 2005. An anime adaptation produced by AIC A.S.T.A. was first aired in October 2008 in Japan. 8.5/10 Niwatori Dango Nabe is an awesome song! I was really amazed to hear such a song being the ending theme of an anime I had never heard of! It sounds so much like a tango song, that's it's quite bewildering. The weirdest part of it all, is that you hardly notice that it's sung in Japanese, because the singer has that same Latin American intonation. Anyhow, I really enjoy this song quite a lot!

My piano cover of Long Kiss Goodbye - Naruto Shippuuden ED07

My last piano video was 10 days ago, so I can't wait to post a new one! This time around, I thought it could be nice to cover some really popular anime song, like a Naruto theme song for example... I saw so many fan works piano videos for the new Naruto OP (Closer by Joe Inoue) on Youtube (some were really amazing!), that I wanted to try out something new like the ED theme song Long Kiss Goodbye by HALCALI (Download it here). I'm still not sure if it was a wise choice, since Long Kiss Goodbye is more a rap song than a traditional song with melody. So it might sound weird to some of you! Anyway, tell me what you think about it, I'd really appreciate it! If you like it, you can download my piano version here.

Inazuma Eleven OP Full Song - Tachiagariyo by T-Pistonz

Two weeks ago I reviewed the Inazuma Eleven ED song, which was a really fun song. Well now, it's time to take a look at the Inazuma Eleven OP theme song, Tachiagariyo by T-Pistonz.

5.5/10 Tachiagariyo is a very funny sounding song. It has nice fun beat with cool trumpets und whistles, and sounds indeed like a soccer song (a latin-american soccer song with japanese lyrics LOL!). It also reminds me of the song Samba de Janeiro by Bellini, well at least the beats and whistle sounds and especially when they start yelling Rio, Rio in the middle of the song... But even though it's a fun song, I'm still not a big fan of the melody and the singer's voice... The guy sounds like a mentally challenged clown! What do you think??
