Learn how to draw design, and paint mech robot sci-fi: video step-by-step tutorial with instruction online. A step by step how to sketch and paint to create Mecha concept. Whenever I want to start to come up with concept idea, I usually do this speedpainting concept spend about twenty minutes to an hour to get the idea down. You can watch and learn my process of how to put rough idea onto the paper sketching and create sci-fi character concept art online lesson for comics cartoon illustration, manga, and anime.

Rendering metal object for mecha robot design drawing: Video tutorial online

Learn how to render metal object using Photoshop for drawing of mecha robot design for Anime Manga and comics: video step-by-step tutorial with instruction online. A very quick basic step by step how to paint or render metal object using the existing drawing from a previous tutorial to work on. First, I start blocking in the shape, then assign value, and color.

This tutorial is just a quick demo on how to render a metal object by sketching practice using various tools in Photoshop. It is not meant to be finished painting or illustration. The more you do the better you will get.

My advice is just draw and paint a lot then throw it away then start it over....don't spend so much time with just one or two painting. Take it to where you think this is a good enough practice like speedpainting, then start another one. Though once in a while with planing and preparation (thumbs, comp, etc.) you should finish a good painting or illustration and take it as far as you can. If you get stuck and don't know how to take it further, do research and find inspiration. Or even copy the master painting (I don't do it enough, but good painter and concept artist I know do). It makes them better artist along the way.

Anyway, this rendering is more like under-painting or foundation.

WHAT IS MECHA?

Mecha*, also known as meka or mechs, are walking vehicles controlled by a pilot. Mecha are generally, though not necessarily, bipedal. In most science fiction stories in which they appear, mecha are war machines: essentially armored fighting vehicles with legs instead of treads or wheels (there are some exceptions). Some stories, such as the Japanese manga Patlabor, also encompass mecha used for civilian purposes such as heavy construction work, police functions, or firefighting.

How to draw a funky robot: Step by step Online tutorial

This is a very basic step by step how to sketch in the first stage whenever I want to start to come up with concept idea. I usually do this really quick, it should take no longer than 3 to 5 minutes. It's a thumbnail sketch, and I do a lot of them in the sketch book just to get variation of ideas before I decide with on to pick and finalize. You could probably do it 7 to 10 in a row and take a break. Pick one or two you really like. Then do more until you have about 30-40 robot in different poses if you may.
