8/10 If you're a fervent reader of this blog, you probably know how much I adored her two Vampire Knight theme songs, Still Doll and Suna no Oshiro. So it comes as no surprise that I have been waiting for this album for quite a while now. I was so happy to get my hands on it even after reading not so great reviews (such as this one). My overall impression is on the contrary a very good one... How can you go wrong with such a talented artist? She not only has a beautiful voice, but is also a skilled cello player (just like my sister, hehe). It's so rare to have a young J-Pop singer who plays the cello!

Mana's gothic and mysterious style is a great addition to Kanon's talent. A lot of the tracks on the album feature haunting melodies with amazing vocals. Beautiful string arrangements can be heard in almost every song and they feature not only a cello but also violins... There's even a beautiful song sung entirely in french called L'espoir, even though I couldn't understand a single word she was singing!

I hope you will like the album as much as I did...

Lyrics for Vampire Knight Guilty ED - Suna no Oshiro by Kanon Wakeshima

Suna no Oshiro by Kanon Wakeshima has got to be my favorite ED song this season (download the Full ED here). Here are the lyrics of this wonderful song:

Lyrics (Romaji):
sotto nagareru
shiroi
kawaita kumo ga tooru
hairo no watashi wa
tada jitto kiete iku no wo
miteta

hoshi wo atsumete
tsukuru suna no oshiro ni
watashi no sasayaka na inori
koborete ochiru
sono ashimoto wo
machibuseta nami ga sarau

a world of darkness.
a world of silence.

kiekakaru inori
kaze ni aorare nagara
sore demo tomori tsuzukete
watashi ga ikudo mo motsure nagara
hieyuku te de
tsukuru suna no oshiro wo
machibuseta nami ga sarau

anata e

The English translation and Kanji lyrics are after the cut.

Lyrics (English):
Quietly flowing
White
Dried clouds pass by
The gray me
Just watched their vanishing
Intently

Onto the castle of sand that I built
From gathering the stars
My tiny prayer
Falls
Waves that lay in waiting
Sweep you off your feet

a world of darkness.
a world of silence.

While the prayer that seems like it'll vanish soon
Is fanned by the wind
Nevertheless, I continue to light it
While I messed up again and again
The waves that lay in waiting
Sweep away the castle of sand that I built
With chilled hands

To you

Lyrics (Kanji):
そっと流れる
白い
乾いた雲が通る
灰色のわたしは
ただじっと消えて行くのを
見てた

星を集めて
つくる砂のお城に
わたしのささやかな祈り
零れて落ちる
その足元を
待ち伏せた波がさらう

a world of darkness.
a world of silence.

消えかかる祈り
風に煽られながら
それでも灯り続けて
わたしが幾度も縺れながら
冷えゆく手で
つくる砂のお城を
待ち伏せた波がさらう

あなたへ

New OP by ON OFF - Vampire Knight Guilty

I've been talking a lot about the new ED for Vampire Knight Guilty by Kanon Wakeshima which totally blew me off. But I haven't forgotten the OP for Vampire Knight Guilty by ON OFF called Rondo, the same group that did the first OP for Vampire Knight, which was actually really good.

7.5/10 This time around, I think it has more of a baroque feel to it (the first one was already pretty baroque, so that's saying a lot!), but I still really like it. Especially the piano is amazing in it. I also like the change of pace during the song. I'm sure I'll end up giving it an 8/10.

So here is Rondo by ON OFF(Download full song here!):

8/10 Here's the first OP for Vampire Knight: Futatsu no Kodou to Akai Tsumi by ON OFF. I loved it (Akaku akaku akaku...) (Download full song here!)

Full Vampire Knight Guilty ED - Suna No Oshiro by Wakeshima Kanon

I while ago (or was it last week?) I mentioned the new ED for Vampire Knight Guilty (here)which is awesome. And now, I finally have heard the entire song... It has an interesting gothic and dark feel to it. Download it here! UPDATE: Download the full high quality ED Single here.

Kanon is very talented. She's a cellist as well as a singer and has played the cello since she was three years old. I can't wait to listen to her first album!

10/10 Check out the PV for Suna No Oshiro by Wakeshima Kanon:

9/10 And here's the PV for Still Doll(download full song here), the first ED for Vampire Knight last season, which was also an incredibly good song. The cello and her beautiful voice mix together so well:

Creepy ED -Vampire Knight Guilty

9.5/10 Love, love the new ED for Vampire Knight's second season. It really suits the series! Creepy music+creepy voice=Win! What do you think? Can't wait to listen to the entire song.(update: download full song here)
From what I've heard so far for the new anime fall season, this is my favorite ED! Any other suggestions?
