Linebarrels of Iron Insert Songs and OSTs

Linebarrels of Iron OSTTwo weeks ago, I finished watching Linebarrels of Iron and while I wouldn't say it was masterpiece, it still had its moments... The characters were a bit too over the top for my taste and the storyline borrowed a lot from other animes of the genre. The music also had its moments, with some nice BGM tracks by Conisch (who I had never heard of before) and some really awesome insert songs from Lisa Komine (both are on the Linebarrels of Iron OST2).

8.5/10 The first insert song by Lisa Komine is entitled Kokoro no Mama ni and is a slow ballad accompanied by piano. I don't remember in which episodes it was featured, but it definitely was during some sad parts... The melody is truly beautiful and the vocals match the overall mood of the song.

Check out the song here:

9/10 The second insert song is called PROUD and is the true highlight of the Linebarrels of Iron OST2!! It's a wonderful song filled with drama and tension, that usually played in some of the action parts of anime. I remember it being played towards the end of the series, but it may have also played before that. The piano parts are truly amazing in the song... And I love the fact, that some parts of the song are a lot slower and are in contrast with the fast-paced beginning of the song. I also advise you to check out the instrumental version of PROUD, which is a slower piano track of the song...

Linebarrels of Iron ED2 - Full Song: Remedy by Maaya Sakamoto

Maaya Sakamoto KazeyomiRemember the wonderful ED from Linebarrels of Iron, the lovely song Ame ga furu by Maaya Sakamoto? Well now there's a new ED theme song, and you've guessed it, it's another song by Maaya Sakamoto called Remedy. What a treat!
Remedy is written and arranged by solaya, who did Mitsubachi to Kagakusha on the Saigo no Kajitsu single (ED for the Tsubasa Chronicle OVA Tokyo Revelations). Remedy is also a track from Kazeyomi, her 6th studio album that will be released on January 14th. I can't wait for the album, it contains 2 songs from Macross Frontier, Triangler and the unreleased song Ao no Ether (that was originally sung by Megumi Nakajima). I really love Ao no Ether (watch my piano cover here), and I'm sure Maaya's version will be even better than Megumi's! You can download the full new Linebarrels of Iron ED here.

8/10 Remedy is yet another solid song from Maaya Sakamoto without Yoko Kanno, after the really nice Ame ga Furu, the first ED. Maaya's pleasant voice is as good as ever, and the tune is also really well done. What a happy song! I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Here's the video clip of the new ED:

Lyrics (English):
What I hold within my heart is justice

My sun, which is burning blazingly red
The sealed truth, which is sleeping somewhere in this world
To what extend will this hand find love and sorrow, and touch them?
I will melt down the darkness, so I can stay this way

When I pass through the door leading to an unknown world
I'll turn this heart into steel if my wings are wounded

The falling shadow of intersected light
Will surely shine upon the future ahead

The corner of this endless outerspace
Upon one lonely star and another
We're alive and got connected to each other
Let us be the bridge(LINE) beyond this earth

The moon dimly floats in the blue sky
Let's continue to ridicule even when the dream drips away
The hand I offered, the warmth I received
I'll attach this life
So that you and that smile of yours will stay that way

The soul living deep inside
The demon opens one eye
And stares at the deepening time
What is good and what is evil?

You're slowly melted away
While crying tears in anguish
In order to protect someone

Hope and greed ceased to exist
One by one trapped into the moment
We're feeling lost and fighting each other
Will this result in the right history?

My land, which is soaring near and far
Trample on the soil where everything returns
I'll wake up few times
Remembering the memory of being in those gentle hands
The road will continue on so that people will stay that way

What I hold within this heart is a sword

My sun, which is burning blazingly red
The sealed truth, which is sleeping somewhere in this world
To what extend will this hand find love and hatred, and touch them?
I will melt down the darkness
So I can stay this way

The moon dimly floats in the blue sky
Let's continue to ridicule even when the dream drips away
The hand I offered, the warmth I received
I'll attach this life
So that you and that smile of yours will stay that way

And then
The victory that will protect me

Lyrics (Kanji):

地球越えるLINE(はし)となるように

Linebarrels of Iron OP - Kitei no Tsurugi by ALI PROJECT

ALI PROJECT linebarrels OPALI PROJECT's PV for the Linebarrels of Iron OP - Kitei no Tsurugi is out. I already reviewed the OP and gave it a 2/10 (here). Maybe that was a little harsh of me. Especially coming from someone who has all their albums and really enjoys their music. But like with all ALI PROJECT songs, you have to get used to the weird melodies before appreciating them. So after having listened a few times to the full song, I finally came to my senses. While not being the best ALI PROJECT song, it still doesn't deserve a 2, so my new rating is 5/10. Tell me what you think of the song: Download full Linebarrels OP here!
UPDATE: Download the OP single here.
And watch their impressive PV:

3 Anime Songs in Japanese Weekly Top 10 Singles

Kirarin RevolutionThe Oricon marketing surveying firm has announced that three anime songs have entered its latest weekly chart of the top 10 singles in Japan. Since October 29, the MilkyWay trio sold 16,667 copies of its new "Tan Tan Taan!" opening theme song (download full song here) for the Kirarin Revolution anime to reach the #8 slot. The Hello! Project unit is composed of three voice actresses from the anime: Koharu Kusumi (the heroine Kirari Tsukishima herself), Sayaka Kitahara (Noeru Yukino), and Yuu Kikkawa (Kobeni Hanasaki). MilkyWay's debut song, the "Anataboshi" opening song from the same anime, debuted at #3 this past April.

5/10 The OP for Kirarin Revolution is pure Idol J-Pop. It sounds sweet and childish (and includes many bells and funny rap). You can also hear twinkle sounds! I guess it could be worse...
Here's the PV for Tan Tan Taan! by MilkyWay:

Another voice actress with a successful singing career, Maaya Sakamoto, attained the #9 slot with her "Ame ga Furu" ending song from the Linebarrels of Iron anime (download full song here!). The song sold 13,825 copies since October 29 and is Sakamoto's second top-10 song this year, after Macross Frontier's "Triangler" (#3) (download Triangler here).

Haruka Tomatsu stars as the goddess Nagi in the Kannagi anime, and she also sings the "Motto Hade ni ne!" opening theme for the television series (You can download the full OP single here!) The song, which also debuted on October 29, sold 11,505 copies in its first week to place at #10. Tomatsu sang the "Naissance" ending theme for the live-action drama adaptation of Yukie Nasu's Here is Greenwood shōjo comedy manga.

New Maaya Sakamoto Song - ED for Linebarrels of Iron

OMG, a new Maaya Sakamoto song!! I've known about this one for a few weeks now, but I haven't found the time to write about it yet. So here it is! Maaya Sakamoto is one of my favorite Japanese singers, and she's doing the ED for the new Gonzo show Linebarrels of Iron. Ok, the show isn't that great and the OP is quite dreadful (Ali Project) but still, Maaya's song is really nice. It isn't Yoko Kanno good, but it's still a beautiful song. I like the way the song starts off as slow and then becomes uptempo! And I find her voice always soothing and pleasant, so anything she does is usually a treat!

8/10 So here is the ED for Linebarrels of Iron: Ame ga furu by Maaya Sakamoto (download full song here!) UPDATE: Download the ED single here.

And here's the PV for the full song Ame Ga Furu, enjoy!

ALI PROJECT gone awry

Ali ProjectSorry to disappoint any hardcore ALI PROJECT fan, but their new song sounds kind of awful.
2/10 It's entitled kitei no tsurugi and it is the OP for the new Gonzo show Linebarrels of Iron (which looks great by the way).
I feel like their last songs haven't been that great. It's like they keep repeating the same formula over and over again: weird melody and rhythm that are all over the place, out of tune singing and screechy synths and beats...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an ALI PROJECT hater or anything. It's just that I know they're capable of so much more, and I'll show you what.

First, check the "special" song:

8.5/10 And here's one of their great songs: the orchestral version of Seishoujo Ryouiki from Rozen Maiden.
